RootlessRoot is the structure that supports our vision and creative ideas as movement practitioners that are fundamentally interested in human emotion and cultural expression.

As if it were a cloud always changing, disappearing, appearing and flowing, as it needs, RootlessRoot is a meeting point, an intersection and a threshold where conflicting ideas transform into a journey of sculpturing events inserted with risk and unpredictability.

RootlessRoot is a movement driven, reflective platform through which we realize our practical philosophy in order to further expand and discover our artistic capacities and desires to dive into the emotional landscapes of the human being while developing an artistic language that is accessible, creative, playful, primal and raw.

RootlessRoot company was founded in 2007 by Linda Kapetanea and Jozef Fruček as a vehicle for their own productions, research and teaching.

Based in Athens, a city of iron and concrete, they are building their language of physical expression that is chaotic, raw, and can stay in opposition to what surrounds them both culturally and politically.

Their approach is born out of their belief that the body can still express our innermost desires, feelings and visions, and that the time of heroes is not gone.

Together they have made award-winning pieces for their own and other companies.
